Having lived and worked across different cultural landscapes, Aleksandra Kokotovic’s artistic approach is shaped by an acute awareness of how environments define and transform artistic language. Her practice moves beyond the confines of static form, treating structure not as an end in itself but as a dynamic system of relationships. In her work, geometric elements do not impose rigidity but serve as catalysts for movement and perception, while light ceases to be a mere accent – it becomes an active participant, shifting and redefining the experience of space.
This conceptual framework was particularly evident in her exhibition Supersuprematizam at Monolog Gallery, where she explored the legacy of Suprematism through a contemporary lens, deconstructing and reassembling its principles into immersive spatial compositions. Rather than presenting closed forms, Kokotovic’s works invite interaction, positioning the viewer as a co-creator of meaning. Her practice remains in constant flux, shaped by the tension between structure and fluidity, history and reinvention.
