BETWEEN THE LINES

POETRY NIGHT

We had the pleasure of hosting an inspiring evening at Monolog Contemporary, where we welcomed poets Nikola Mladenovic, Nevena Budimir, Damir Damir, Milica Mitic, Mihailo Tanic, and Nevena Ilic, along with our esteemed guests. Throughout the evening, we shared various poetic works and internal monologues, fostering an exciting exchange of words.

As a gallery focused on visual art, we also recognize the importance of providing a platform for poetry and literature. By hosting events like these, we aim to nurture the written word in our language and support the creative voices of poets and writers. This effort enriches our contemporary landscape, ensuring that literature and poetry remain vital parts of the broader dialogue around art and creativity.

LECTURES

The Art of Starting Out: Freelance Edition

Hosted by Gallery Director Denis Leo Hegic, this lecture brought together students from various art universities in Belgrade to explore the practical realities of beginning a professional career as a freelance artist. With an emphasis on navigating the early stages of the artistic profession, the discussion covered key challenges such as financial sustainability, the importance of building a professional network, and strategies for securing collaborations with galleries and institutions. The session provided students with actionable insights into balancing creative ambitions with the practical demands of the art world. Through direct engagement and real-world examples, Hegic shared his experience, offering valuable guidance on how to approach opportunities and overcome obstacles in the competitive landscape of contemporary art.
