The SUPERSUPREMATISM series by Aleksandra Kokotovic presents works where precision merges with intuition. Geometric forms and meticulously shaped surfaces define the relationships between rhythm, space, and reflection, transforming light and shadow into key elements of each composition.
Aleksandra is a builder – but a builder of structures in an ongoing flux. Each time light encounters her work, a new piece emerges. Here, art is not confined to the figurative but extends to its ability to respond to the natural – time of day, perspective, mood… Her works are not isolated objects detached from their surroundings. On the contrary, they are inseparable from their environment, inviting us to rethink how we observe and understand space, people, and art – opening new possibilities for perception.
In Aleksandra’s work, “super” is not a superlative but rather a diminutive – a symbol of moderation over grandeur, the natural over the artificial.
Denis Leo Hegic, Curator
Having lived and worked across different cultural landscapes, Kokotovic’s approach is shaped by an acute awareness of how environments define artistic language. Her structures are not static objects but relational forms – open systems that invite interaction rather than dictate a singular narrative. In her work, geometry is not a constraint but a tool for movement; light is not an accent but an active participant.
